HIKING & PILGRIMAGE

In the middle of the Windpark Hochpürschtling, two of Austria’s most important long-distance hiking trails cross: the Mariazeller Pilgerweg (No. 06A) and the Zentralalpenweg (No. 02).

As shown in the map below, both routes lead past painted wind turbines and the restored Walser crucifix, which was consecrated in June 2017.

Within close proximity the inn at Stanglalm can be found. Trails from Stanz, Kinderberg, St.Barbara or Freßnitz (Krieglach) make it easily accessible. The Zentralalpenweg runs forth to the east to Waldheimat, birthplace of the poet Peter Rosegger and to the southeast to the inn Schanzwirt or to the summit Teufelstein.
